The Prison Letters – Matt McChlery

This is a devotional for Lent, taking inspiration from the letters of the Apostle Paul that were written from his prison.

Matt has carefully chosen themes that are fundamental to a Christian life, which are woven together by passages from Paul’s letters, bringing a message of hope and mercy.

Each day’s reading has a short explanation of the passage, it’s context and the relevance to our lives now. It is rounded off with a prayer to encourage further contemplation.

Matt’s teaching is easy to follow, practical and applicable, offering helpful thoughts each day that will challenge our thinking and behaviours. He also includes some references for further Bible reading and some questions at the end of each week that are helpful to get you thinking further.

It highlights how, even 2000 years on, the teaching in Paul’s letters is valid for us now and is a great choice for a devotional.
